Mental Health Xcellerators is a student-centered hackathon designed to inspire innovative digital solutions that promote emotional wellbeing, academic focus, and community connection among students. In this hackathon, participants will use EJS, MongoDB, Node.js, and Express to build a fully functional prototype that supports student mental health through modern web technologies. The goal is to create an interactive Mental Health Support Platform that combines technology, empathy, and usability — giving students the tools they need to thrive mentally and academically. Core Features: 💬 Student Support Chats: Safe, real-time chat spaces where students can connect with others experiencing similar challenges, fostering peer support and understanding. 🎥 Smart YouTube Content Integration: Fetches motivational, mindfulness, and mental health-related videos from YouTube using APIs — offering instant, relevant resources tailored to how students feel. ⏳ Study Focus Timer: A built-in productivity timer inspired by the Pomodoro technique, helping students manage study sessions, take healthy breaks, and avoid burnout. 🌿 Mood & Habit Tracking: Allows users to check in with their emotions and monitor progress, encouraging mindfulness and personal growth. Tech Stack: Frontend: EJS (Embedded JavaScript templates) Backend: Node.js + Express.js Database: MongoDB (for user data, chats, and content logs) APIs: YouTube Data API for fetching videos, optional WebSocket or Socket.io for real-time chat Mission: To accelerate digital innovation in mental health — empowering students to build tech that heals, connects, and motivates. Mental Health Xcellerators brings together developers, designers, and change-makers to create technology that makes a difference.
